(GotFrag) - While much of the community's focus is currently on the NVISION 2008 LAN down in San Josa, CA, the CEVO Sennheiser Open rolls onwards with the Consolation Finals between Sway Gaming & Devastation, the winner of which will move on to face Pandemic in the Grand Finals.

Since knocked down by Sway, Devastation has been plowing through the lower bracket, knocking out GZOS on cp_fastlane and taking down Xensity last round on cp_junction - while Sway has been cooling their heels for a week-and-a-half. Thankfully, this week's map is the more traditional cp_granary, albeit the new version with setup time.

cp_granary has traditionally been Devastation's map, hands down. Tracing all the way back to a SIT v 20ID win in CEVO S1, and through an insanely tight loss to Pandemic later on, Devastation's quick-paced style was perfectly suited for the equally quick-paced granary - back when scknss & punisher were the fiercest scouts in the game and before Valve added those damn gates. But both team and map have changed, but Dev still seems to perform well on this one - certainly better than they did on cp_gravelpit, anyways.

While the score was 2-1 in the first Sway-Dev match, it really wasn't all that close of a contest (cue the aforementioned A-hold). There's no doubt that Sway has the ability to shut Devastation, especially now that REM is gone - but my mind keeps coming back to one simple fact: that was gpit, and this is granary. Not to mention the fact that Dev's been in that "back against the wall" mentality for a while now, while Sway's had some time to get lazy.

I've picked against Dev 3 matches straight now, and they've proved me wrong every time. Lets just hope I don't jinx em now..
