Devastation takes on Experiment in the Lower Bracket Finals of Group A
What's this? A new post on GotFrag's TF2 section?! Anyways, I am sure most of the competitive community knows me, so I will skip the intro for now since time is of the essence. In a few short hours Experiment and Devastation will face off in the lower bracket finals of group A.

Now let me start off by saying, that I believe that both of these teams deserve to go onto the next round, but due to CEVO doing (pulling team names out of hat?) random seeds, group A got stacked with 3-4 teams deserving of going on to the championship brackets. But hey, life's not fair, and here we are with this great match up. The winner will go on to compete for some cool headphones and a piece of TF2 glory, and the loser will get to twiddle their thumbs for the next month while watching matches from the sidelines. There is a lot at stake, and there is no finer map than cp_gravelpit where victory is measured in seconds. So on to my predictions.

Devastation:

Devastation finds themselves put into the losers bracket by none other than the team they face tonight, The Experiment. Devastation lost earlier in the brackets on map cp_dustbowl 2-0 in what was a close first half, and a not so close second half. Devastation will be looking for revenge, and have been tirelessly scrimming all week. Dev's strengths lie in the fact they have been around for a good while without changing much of their roster, and only bolstering it with the addition of "pokey the penguin."

For Dev to win tonight, its going to have to come from smart play from their demoman, REM, and their two soldiers, Paladin and Phelon. Their heavy classes need to stay alive and be ready for Ex's explosive pushes. However, one of Dev's strengths is also their weakness, Glue. Glue is somewhat notorious for holding his ubers too long, and dying with uber, however, he can also be a boon to the team because he holds uber so long. I have seen him many times jump and dodge rockets and scattergun shots long enough for his combo to kill whatever it was that was shooting him, but sometimes things don't always go his way, and with TF2's Random Number Generator (RNG) for damage, anything can happen.

Experiment:

Experiment is coming off a loss in the upper bracket finals against Eximius on cp_badlands, in what was a very tight and close game (5-3), and now they find themselves on the brink of elimination against a team who they themselves sent to the lower bracket earlier in tourney play. Experiment's roster is jam packed with talents of previously dominant teams, such as Pandemic, and Eximius, and the previous version of Experiment. They also have Motard who was 20id's main soldier and who will likely be a key factor in tonights play. What Experiment has in talent, they lack in cohesiveness.

Individual skills run very high on this team, but this is TEAM Fortress 2, and if you don't have good team play, you are in trouble. The key for Ex to win tonight is to have some in-game leadership, and have organized pushes. They have the talent, but as I stated, I feel they haven't gelled together yet. In TF2, chemistry is very important, and they have been experimenting, but will they have what it takes to put it all together tonight and pull out a W? Or is there going to be an explosion in the lab?

Final prediction: Devastation [2:1] Experiment

Final Score: Devastation [2:0] Experiment

Sorry for the short prediction this time around, but I am time restrained as this match takes place in a few hours. Good luck to both teams, It should be very enjoyable to watch. Head on over to http://www.pwnage.tv/ at 10:30 EST for the gamecast.
