North America - Week 7-2 just might feature the best matchups we've had in CEVO-P to date. First, the battle of the bottom dwellers between Devastation and Relentless Assuault - the outcome of which could deside who ends up in the top 6 for playoffs. RA didn't put up much of a fight against mSHIFT last round, but but dev. (formerly SIT) hasn't played a match since Valentine's Day, and cp_junction is no walk in the park.

The other matchup this round features a clash of the titans - TGL Roughneck champs 20ID versus the CEVO-P kings, Pandemic. There's no denying that Pandemic seem to be in a class of their own, but the former ex. players still have yet to face their biggest two rivals, namely 20ID and mSHIFT. 20ID comes into the matchup red hot, most recently beating RA and fragD (quite handedly, I might add) on cp_well before taking a BYE for the first cp_junction match. This, really, is the matchup we've all been waiting for, and is in my opinion the only real chance of Pandemic getting knocked off this season.

Predictions:
20ID v Team Pandemic - MOTW
How could this one not be MOTW? With the no-crit playoffs in sight, Pandemic - who've been coasting through S1 - is so close to clinching that #1 seed, yet still have some pretty big obstacles to overcome.. like this match. It'll be interesting to see how both teams adapt to the cramped conditions of cp_junction, but seeing how often both teams have been scrimming, I hardly think preparation will be an issue.

No, this baby's gonna come down to (cue lame sports analogy) whoever wants it the most. With cp_junction being such a teamskill-reliant map, I'm going to have to go with Pandemic, who've been jellin' all season.

Devastation v Relentless Assult
If there's one team that's really taken it up the behind because of all these clans dropping out, it's Dev. RA beat both 50|Cal and aG/boatride in the first week, but both of those teams died before dev could take a shot at them. Result? RA has a half-win CPI bonus over dev (FF win = .75 in calculations). Therefore, unless CEVO acts, Dev has to win both this match and next week's fragD tout to make the top 6 (which, I'm assuming, is the playoffs.. since a playoff where everyone makes it is a bit lame). Not the easiest road to take..

But I don't know.. I like Dev. Maybe it was that nifty cp_granary win against 20ID, or maybe it was the close losses to mSHIFT and REK, but there's something about this team that makes me think there's more there. I don't see them as the worst team, and I think they'll climb there way out of the basement, despite how late in the season it is.
