If you haven't heard by now, author Michael Kane has just released a new book about e-sports called "Game Boys: Professional Videogaming's Rise from the Basement to the Big Time." It’s a major release, in stores like Barnes & Noble and available online at sites like Amazon.com for under $20.

Centered around the fierce Counter-Strike rivalry of Team 3D and CompLexity, “Game Boys” tracks pro gaming’s growth from the birth of the CPL, through the inept attempts of the WSVG and into the TV era at the first-ever CGS event in San Francisco.

Chapters include home visits with stars like fRoD, Storm and Warden, a boot-camp in Dallas with Team 3D, plus showdowns at tournaments like CPL Winter, Lanwar and Intel Summer. The book also profiles in-depth the fierce rivalry between managers Jason Lake and Craig Levine.

“Game Boys” is not typical media fluff. It reveals the rowdy untold side of gaming. You’ll see what’s going on late-night at CPL events, go for a yacht ride with JaX Money Crew and the PMS Clan, and get a peek inside the Playboy Mansion at the CGS Draft.

Positive reviews have already appeared in Penthouse, Details, the Wall Street Journal, San Francisco Chronicle and New York Post. For all available info, see the official website www.gameboysbook.com.

“Game Boys” is the first true book about gaming life. It’s a must-read for every e-sports fan.
