Day Of Defeat Source: Week 8 Main Preds

Nick "habana-" Haberno makes the predictions on a week which will determine the final standings before playoffs.
Davitch is down so I'll do the predictions this week.  There are six teams with a 4-3 record going into the final regular season games.  With playoff spots up for grabs the results will be extremely interesting as they complete the playoff picture.  Teams should be scratching and clawing for as many ticks as they can as RPI will come into play when placing many teams in the main playoff bracket.  With that said this week’s map is Railroad, a long time dod and now dods favorite.

vs.
            (4-3)                                (4-3)

Number 10 and number 7 in the Cal standings hook up in this one.  Ask anyone and they will tell you 7th ranked gS are a top main team talent wise.  They are not the most active team in the game, but they don’t need to be to win this one.  Kirk and Co. should be able to handle TCB easy; they are superior in every class and on every route.  Spoon is a beast and should run rampant on this heavy weighted map.  Nuttz and rookie, TCB's top guys are extremely aggressive and will do their best, but will fall short in the end.

Players to watch: spoon and nuttz

Prediction: Totally Cool Boys < gameSLAVES - 4 caps

vs.
            (6-1)                               (5-2)

Number 1 ranked ENE take on 4th ranked MNM.  This is an extremely interesting match up of these two main powerhouses.  MNM is coming off a big victory over gS and look to continue their hot streak.  Meanwhile ENE's only loss this season has come against invite remake BattleGear. ENE's heavies should have a slight advantage in apartments and Jester's rocket/rifle should give MNM some proned trouble.  Yet Mug N Mouse has an advantage in rifle ability.  Pablo "Gorilla" Coon is a dangerous light/rifle, and has a nasty mg if they (Or more likely ENE) opt that way.  Coon and MNM really know the map but should be aware of ENE's Divide-like tactics, where you never know what to expect.  If ENE puts up mid, they are excellent at getting ninjas and making the most out of their chances.

Players to watch: Gorilla, nbdyfms and jester

Prediction: Enervate Gaming < Mug N Mouse - Ticks

vs.
             (4-3)                               (4-2)

BG dCaf's Prediction: The Check-Six vs. Breaking Point Gaming match should be a very interesting one.  With zoltan leading the way in the rifle department for BPG, the mid could be a great scene of action.  Check-Six will be sending loki and onyx through apartments.  They are a very solid duo and should hold their ground very well.  Game will take charge of middle with his sniper skills and oxide will hold it down with the light.  If BPG wants the win they will have to show up with game-wise smarts.

Players to watch: Onyx, Game, zoltan and f0rbes

Prediction: Breaking Point Gaming < Check-Six - 3+ caps

vs.
            (3-0)                               (5-2)

The voted TGBF MOTW.  Many people want to know if Nightmare (Formerly Paragon) still has it. They are 0-2 with the new anti-cheat client Tiwaz in use.  They are heavily accused by the majority of the dods community to be cheating.  Despite no Nightmare member every being caught, it's now their chance to prove the dods community wrong.  They face a 3-0 BattleGear team who has knocked off all the top main teams they've faced so far.  Most people have predicted a BG slaughter, helped by Tiwaz of course but this is Nightmare's best map.  Nightmare knows how to play the railroad/salerno layout to a tee.  Watch for Prevailant to go train car and shoot BG in the back all game.  The apartment battle will be fierce and close.  Nightmare’s heavy duo are strong but have been a bit inactive lately.  The rifle match ups are interesting and Battle will have his hands full with acid and Bigdaddy.  Illusion has not been very active lately; this could be trouble for Nightmare as they need him to be strong running long.  Snipers aren’t exactly dominant on this map, but enforcer is extremely talented and if he gets hot he could really help in the frag department.  But from the looks of it BG has been more active than Nightmare this week, and if this is the case, I don’t think Nightmare has a chance.  It won’t be a blowout, but BG should take it.

Players to watch: DCaf, Acid, Battle and THE_ELITE

Prediction: BattleGear:Gaming > NightMare Gaming - 2 Caps

Menace To Society vs.
            (1-2)                                    (2-5)

mTs are back in main and 1-2 since.  I played on the Emazing Gaming team that destroyed them a few weeks ago.  The score seriously could have been in the quadruple digits (That's 4 digits, 1000).  Now Vehement Gamers are not the pewpewers eMg are, but they are never the less a solid main team.  They are much better than their 2-5 record shows and are looking strong on this map.  Spies is tough in apartments and nitro is an underrated rifle.  Antnerd, vG's star is a good sniper and he'll face lightoff who just happens to be Menace To Society's best player.  Look for a big sniper battle over middle in this game.  Varm is rusty and won’t do enough to stop vG's impending domination.  His garand seems to have gone down the drain, although he can still kar decent enough.

Players to watch: Antnerd and lightoff

Prediction: Menace To Society < Vehement Gamers - 3 caps

vs
            (4-3)                               (4-3)

8 and 9 in the standings, this is kind of a tough one to call.  Handicap, although extremely talented are not very active.  Envy on the other hand are having a rough season.  Coming into the season they were touted as a top main team, but they have yet to deliver on that promise.  eNvy's deadline pickup of Towel should help them immensely in the lacking rifle department.  I see hdc having the upper hand on railroad. bobson and trainman are strong and will give envy headaches all day.  Entari will kar the apartments and get some frags but it wont be enough to put a dent in the hdc short bus.  Moneyb will shutdown any chance envy has of taking mid and launching further pushes.

Players to watch: Entari, moneyb and trainman

Prediction: eNvy < Handicap - 1 Cap

vs.
            (4-3)                               (5-2)

The Mexicans are coming off a loss to BattleGear in which they never really threatened.  Emazing is also coming in remembering a loss to Check-Six in a nail biter of a game.  But it's in game where team eMg should make their next QQ Production.  They are an extremely talented team who practices maybe once before match time.  The Mexicans on the other hand do practice and prepare.  They are led by their two stars Nightmare and Zono, who bring experience and solid strategy to the mexican camp.  Emazing's rifles are impressive and will surprise the ever confident zono and pedro.  I see a big heavy battle developing between Leaf and chewy, and if chewy can’t stop the mouse1-train that is Leaf, The Mexicans will have trouble all game.  The Nublet/Nightmare sniper battle over middle should be interesting.  Nublet is surprisingly smart and just might out-snipe nightmare.  The game breaker in this one will be the Mexicans chemistry, as everyone knows they have been together for some time, and it shows.  Despite what most people think, this game should be close.

Players to watch: Leaf, pedro and nublet

Prediction: eMazing Gaming < The Mexicans - 1 Cap

vs.
            (1-6)                               (3-4)

Here is the battle near the bottom.  Legends are sort of a rebuild team.  They were assumed to be dead early on in the season but they made some key pickups to keep them alive and competitive.  Word on the other hand just picked up msd.  With that said Word always impresses in scrims, they just can’t seem to get it done come match time.  Word will dominate in the apartments and enough everywhere else to take this one.

Players to watch: Koda, meowz, and msd

Prediction: w0rd > Livin Legends - 2 Caps

Good luck to all teams in Main this week.
