Season 4 has finally ended, which means its time for move ups and move downs. We are going to take a look at some of the finest teams in Open that have clinched a spot in main next season. CAL has seen an explosion of teams joining their ranks in the latest season of Day of Defeat: Source. This is due in part to 1.3 no longer being supported, but also to a growing interest in the community. With so many teams signing up for Open, CAL felt it necessary to balloon the numbers in their Main division. With the addition of the top eight teams from last season’s Open division, Main now boasts over 20 teams. Here is a look at the teams being moved up, as well as an interview with the
team leader. After a run to the finals in season four, Sunlit Games has earned themselves a spot amongst the tougher CAL-Main competition. With a final record of 9 wins and 3 losses, SLG is looking to prove that their string of play-off victories was no fluke.
How did you feel when you heard your team would be moved into CAL-Main? SLG|Sux2bu: Surprised! We weren't sure what Cal was going to do and being in the finals doesn't mean they thought we were good enough, but we are excited about the challenge.
SLG|AintSkerd: Exhausted and excited. It has been a long season and when you make it to the finals you don't really get a chance to digest everything so soon.
How do you feel your team will fare against the Main caliber?
SLG|Sux2bu: We will probably beat some teams nicely, play some close matches, and get rolled in some matches. It really depends on who gets moved into Invite and what our roster will look like.
So you plan on making some roster changes?
SLG|AintSkerd: We are still in discussion about that and haven't had time to iron all of it out, but it is likely depending on who sticks around and what spots we need to fill.
Well, thanks for your time guys, would you like to make any shout-outs?
SLG|Sux2bu: Yeah, props to Rosie and John at SunlitGames.net for supplying the resources for this to be a successful season, and Rage, I&S, GSS, and Toons for letting us borrow their players to use in Cal.
SLG|AintSkerd: And don’t forget all the people that had faith in the old pubbers.
