Read on to see the CAL Main Season XIII Week 1 Overview by Todo, propaganda, duality, and guest predicter kaus!

Tonight we begin season 13 of CAL-DoD in the midst of some very interesting changes. As most well know, Eximius and Prophecy survived the move-up to CAL-i while ROBBED and Phrenetik were not so lucky. Joining the latter two teams in CAL-m are team helix, x-t4z3, CUTE-E, and Losgueros after being moved up from CAL-im. Overall main features a 24-team roster that will surely fluxuate significantly as we learn more about the CPL and even, hopefully, CEVO.

With it being the beginning of the season and main having a fairly fresh look, few rivalries will carry over and it should be very interesting to see who pulls ahead in the first couple of weeks. Phrenetik, having suffered a tough loss at the hands of Eximius, faces a struggling dtH that recently lost two of its players, its leader Platypus included, to CAL suspension for allowing sneaky to ring in last week's match. With dtH at far from full strength and Phrenetik still very unhappy about their move-down from CAL-i, I believe that it's safe to expect relative domination. Phrenetik has been among the more active teams in this past week and I see them bouncing back very strongly and into a 1-0 record. They have confirmed that they will be playing at 9:30 EST but have yet to release HLTV info, if there will be one.

Among the more interesting matches to watch this week should be that between ARMY Gaming and Heart-Shaped Box. ARMY should have had time to revitalize their team after a solid, respectable performance last season that got them into the playoffs before they were discarded on Anzio. Heart-Shaped Box on the other hand is a team that pulled from a couple different sources, featuring a few former quickStrafe players, two former !kb players, as well as Demetrius. Though the match was later overturned for lack of screen shots on Buchan's end, they were nonetheless able to defeat a promising Monitor Tan team on railroad2 and they should be on their way to a successful season provided they have a bit more luck with the standard screen shots and demos.

Team Helix's successful preseason earned them the nod to move up to CAL-m, and they'll begin with a strong test right off the bat in n2p. One of last season's best teams, which probably got shafted in some respect when they weren't considered for the moveup to CAL-i, n2p has returned in full force this season to see if they can prove themselves a little bit more. Helix will be missing the presence of jakewut this week on sniper but not to fear, Brent will be coming off the bench to fill in the spot skillfully. It will be interesting to see how they fare against one of main's best teams and it will undoubtedly be a good match.

In a bit of a twist, ROBBED and Losgueros will be facing off at 9:00 EST on this coming Sunday. The recent night change really seems to have opened the community up to rescheduling, something that was a bit of a problem in the past, and it's definitely been a change for the better. HLTV will be posted as soon as it comes, and I can almost guarantee that godfather will attempt to manipulate our strat out of me during one of our drunken 10-mans this weekend.
