Counter-Strike: CEVO CS 1.6 Sapphire ATOMIC Theory Tournament

CEVO Announces Sapphire ATOMIC Theory Counter-Strike 1.6 Tournament
CEVO LLC (CYBER EVOLUTION) is excited to announce the Sapphire ATOMIC Theory Counter-Strike 1.6 Tournament, an online event featuring thousands of dollars worth of prizes courtesy of Sapphire Technology & CEVO.

The Sapphire Technology Tournament is a double-elimination online event for gamers in the Counter-Strike 1.6 community. The event is part of the Gamers Tour (www.gamerstour.com), a recently launched program that recognizes the best Counter-Strike tournaments going on around North America. Registration will open on Thursday, October 9th and close on Sunday, November 2nd, with the first round matches beginning on Wednesday, November 5th. There are only limited team slots available (128) to the first teams that are fully registered, so get your team signed up today! There is a registration fee of $5.00 per player.

The SAPPHIRE "Atomic Theory" Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament is a namesake for the upcoming release of the next SAPPHIRE Technology Atomic series graphic card. SAPPHIRE produces a limited number of the ATOMIC series graphic card and each is authentically numbered and will be distributed worldwide. Later this month Sapphire will announce and celebrate the official release of the Atomic series GPU's with the launch of a custom website and prize give away sweepstakes.

Tournament Details:

- 128 teams, double elimination.
- $5.00 registration fee per player.
- Matches played twice a week, on Wednesday and Sunday evenings.
- Registration is open from Thursday, October 9th - Sunday, November 2nd.
- Standard CEVO rules apply, 15 round halves, $800 startmoney, and teams will knife for side choice.
- Maps are de_dust2, de_nuke, de_inferno, de_train, de_tuscan, de_russka, and de_forge (Map Rotation: TBA).
- The CMN will be enabled for all matches.
- Teams are permitted to dispute a maximum of two players per team per match.

NOTE: The 1st and 2nd place teams will be invited to participate in the Season 10 CEVO-Professional Placement Tournament, while the 3rd - 8th place teams will be awarded a spot in the Season 10 Main division. If the 1st and 2nd place teams have already qualified for the Placement tournament the spots will be awarded to the next eligible teams. Ace in the Hole Challenge:

The CEVO "Ace in the hole" challenge is a new individual contest that will run for the duration of the tournament. The contest is open to any player who is able to record an AWP ace (5 kills in 1 round using the AWP) during an official match. Any player that is able to do this will have their names thrown into a draw at the end of the tournament for the "Ace in the hole Challenge" grand prize. If no players are able to pull off the required feat, the prize package will be carried over to our next tournament.

Players that complete this task in an official tournament match should contact CEVO|Rauch at drauch@cevo.com for instructions on where to upload your demo.

How To Register:

All players will need to create a personal CEVO user account to participate in CEVO events. If you do not already have one, click "register now" under the CEVO Members section of the website and follow the instructions.

Team Captains:

The Team Captain or Manager is responsible for registering their team for the event. Captains who have already created a team for another CEVO Counter-Strike 1.6 event do not need to create a new team - you can simply join this event with your current team. To sign your current team up for this event, login to your personal user account then go to "teams"->"view my teams" (or click "Manage My Teams" on the main account page). Click on the "manage" link corresponding to your team and then click "Sign Team Up for a CEVO Event".

If you are a Team Captain needing to create a team, login to your personal user account then go to "teams"->"create a team" (or click "Create a Team" on the main account page).

Once the team is created/registered for the event, each team member may join the roster by logging into their personal user account on the website and clicking “Join A Roster”.

Team Players:

In order to join a roster, your team captain must have already registered your team for this event. Once that is done, to join the roster, login to your personal user account and click "teams"->"Join a Roster" (or simply click "Join a Roster" on the main account page).

On the Join Roster page, choose this event from the drop-down menu, then type all or part of the team name and click "Find Team". When the search finishes, click the "join" button corresponding to your team.
