Counter-Strike: GotSkills? CEVO Pro S9 Week 4

By: Brent Meeder - Published August 07, 2008 at 8:28 PM EDT - Writer Archive
GotFrag is back to bring you the fourth edition of GotSkills for CEVO Professional Season 9.
USA - Due to a few matches left rescheduled from Week 3, it caused a delay in the GotSkills editions and for that I apologize.

The competition continues to turn heads as we see more upsets and even stronger teams than last season. MoB is beginning to know what X3O was feeling awhile back as they lead the standings for another week.

Also struggling for redemption, Complexity is beginning to make way as sit above X3O in the standings.

Top 5 Team Performances of the Week

1. United States MoB - Currently the #1 team in CEVO, MoB has been consistent in their last five matches and will look to continue that as they fight for redemption.
2. United States PoV - Couple roster issues made some mistakes early on but are beginning to turn around with 5 out of 6 wins in their recent games. They will have a real test of ability as they face X3O in Week 5.
3. United States coL - After a struggle in the beginning of the season, they are starting to turn things around with their four game streak heading into Week 5. If they can pull a win over MoB, it will really see the change of pace these guys have made.
4. United States EG - Their first match against Ferocity really hurt them since they played with four players and lost. After picking up Nepo, they've began to establish communication and work harder to keep the squeeze on MoB.
5. United States FD - Currently seated right behind EG at #3 and will need to get some momentum going. Their most recent match only had four players which turned out to be a tragic loss for FD and a very needed win for coL.

Player of the Week: Andrew "dRew" Timmerman - Well if you were wondering why PoV won both matches this past week, blame this guy right here. Timmerman had an over 27 frags per game, 5 assists, and totaled 55 frags along with Gilbert of EG. Although it might not of been much of competition for them, he got some target practice in.

Surprise of the Week: X3O - With two games left unplayed, and their loss to MoB, this is the lowest placing we've seen X3O at in their career in CEVO. Iantosca's absense hurt them for that match and will need to practice twice as hard to better themselves.

Stock Rising: MoB - They have felt the presence of first place before but not as comfortable as they are feeling it right now. With X3O way out of sight and a couple trailers behind, MoB will look to keep the #1 spot for the remainder of the season. Playing solid in their past five consecutive wins is only putting more pressure on the rest of the competition.

Stock Falling: X3O - Keeping the #6 spot in CEVO warm, they will have much work to do to keep their shot at playoffs alive. If they get charged with forfeits for those left unplayed Week 3 matches, that could make matters worse and put them in even a more crucial situation.
