CEVO (www.cevolved.com) has just announced that registration is open for their highly anticipated FREE Counter-Strike 1.6 league called Project Gamer. The event boasts prizes, anti-cheat, and customer support. A lot of innovativations will be introduced in the league, so teams are advised to read the below press release carefully:
CEVO is thrilled to announce today the opening of registration for Project Gamer – a FREE Counter-Strike 1.6 league with prizes, accessible and friendly customer support staff, and anti-cheat client protection! Team registration for Project Gamer will always be open from this point onward.

Project Gamer is the next great evolution in online eSports, a league that will pioneer many innovations in the industry. Project Gamer is designed to be a so-called "Continuous League" which integrates the best elements of pool and ladder play into a league format. Seasons will not exist for Project Gamer; instead playoff teams will be invited to compete in a tournament while other teams will continue to be scheduled for on-going matches. When the playoffs finish those teams will rejoin the on-going event.

During registration, teams will be asked to specify their top two preferred server locations. This information will be used to assign teams to one of seven local conferences. Teams will be scheduled against other teams with the same preferred server locations (conferences), which will enable improved pings and fewer disagreements over servers.

Teams will also be asked during registration to identify at least two match times that they are eligible to play at on an on-going week-to-week basis. The team Captain or A-Captain will be able to change these times anytime. Teams will be automatically scheduled with pre-determined match times against other teams with the same eligible match times.

The highly successful and independently tested CMN (CEVO Match Network) anti-cheat client will be used by all players for all matches to ensure legitimate competition.

Project Gamer matches will begin as soon as 500 teams are fully registered for the event. Tell everyone you know about Project Gamer so that the event begins as soon as possible!

How To Register:

All players will need to create a personal CEVO user account. If you do not already have one, click on "register now" in the upper right-hand corner of the website.

The team Captain or Manager should register the team slot. To create a team, login to your personal user account and then click on "Manage Teams", and then on "Create New Team". Once the team is created, each roster member (player) will need to join the team by logging into their personal user account on the webpage and then clicking on "Manage Teams" then "Join A Roster".

Teams will be manually set to active after at least 5 players are on the roster with their SteamIDs entered.

Project Gamer Customer Support:

For any help, questions or assistance please contact Project Gamer Customer Support which is available exclusively through Live Help Messenger on the front page of the Project Gamer website at www.cevolved.com. Staff will be able to provide live help every Monday through Thursday from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM PST (Pacific Standard Time). Customer Support is not available for Project Gamer players through IRC or Ventrilo.
