i dont really get why people assume all of the south is completely retarded. i see that in alot of the political threads on this site people make references to the poor education in the entire south when the poor education is only in states like alabama and arkansas or other hick states.
well the big states in usa are california/ny/florida/texas/illionis/mass. - then there are a few borderline states and the rest are dumb. lets get real here
The dark crimson red states are deep south which are always considered to 'The South', and states like Florida and Texas are sometimes considered the south but not always, even though geographically they are the most southern American states.

I will not deny that many southerners thrive on being "hicks" and love to live up to their widespread reputation as such. Too many times I get fed up with all of the pick-up trucks and four-wheelers and people that are absolutely content with being regarded as the least intelligent group of people in the United States(that says a TON in itself). As for public schools, they're a joke in case you didn't know already, people attend them to get the "high school experience" and end up doing the same thing that 75% of college students do in their first year. The one difference is that they don't have to pay any money to keep failing tests in high school, they just hurt averages for their county and state.
