This happens on most of the servers I've tried so far. I start playing, and the game crashes to windows with the following error message:
The window header says "Fatal error!" And the body of the message: QueuePacket: WSAENETRESET
I tried googling for this extensively but couldn't find any solutions or even possible causes. The error itself is apparently of the winsock kind, caused by keepalive activity on a failed connection, or something like that.
Just while I'm looking for help, I also have a connection problem of a different kind - every time I connect to a server, I am allowed to join a team and play for ~1 min. Then I get a WARNING: Connection Problem, and am dropped. I can't immediately reconnect to the server because it says that my SteamID is still connected. So I wait for the server to drop me, connect again, and then can play as long as I like (or COULD, I should say, as now I get dropped by the weird winsock error).
I'm running Windows Vista 32Bit, have Steam and my network drivers fully updated. I also have Avast! running, and am aware of some issues, but disabling it didn't help.
" finally fixed mine, what i had to do was right click computer and go to properties. Click on Advanced System Settings. Then under the performance tab, click settings again. Under the Data Execution Prevention tab, make sure that "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those i select" is selected, and then click add. Add the hl.exe that is in the steam/ajldfk@mail.com/cstrike folder. Then it should work, if your problem was the same as mine =["
