Mark your calendars, MoBgaming and Evil Geniuses face off in CEVO's OCZ grand final this Sunday night on mp_strike. In an event that started out with 55 teams playing through four brackets over the span of almost six weeks, its conclusion will bring both excitement and relief. Excitement over two of the game's best competing for the top prize on the main stage; relief that CEVO's second season is that much closer.

EG won their bracket without batting an eyelash and they sought to continue winning big into the championship bracket. They got off to a good start disposing of Sinister 13-4. Then, wouldn't you know, there was another meeting between EG and Pandemic. Pandemic had a chance to take home the gold at NERV last week after they took down EG on mp_citystreets 13-8. However, Evil Geniuses managed to fend Pandemic off on their map choice, mp_vacant, and won first prize. Interesting that they should not only meet again so soon, but on the same map. Pandemic fell behind 9-3 but managed to tie things up and take it into overtime. Despite Pandemic's best efforts, EG hung on for the win in a thriller.

MoBgaming, now comfortably back online, head into the grand final under similar circumstances. They ran a train through their bracket which included a 13-6 win over MoBdeep. Once in the grand final bracket, their road became decidedly tougher. MoB persevered, though, and took home victories over x3o in overtime and over Nexus 13-11. First prize scores 5x OCZ GameXStream 700W PSUs while second place nets 5x OCZ 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400 Platinum Revision 2 Dual Channel & 5x OCZ ATV 4GB USB 2.0 Flash Drives. The game has not been officially scheduled yet but is tentatively slated to get underway Sunday night.
